![[ ]](http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/PeregrineAlexander/Random%20Pics/icon2.jpg) | The Castle of Dragan (3 sub-boards) This is the ancient castle of Dragan which was built by the magic and determination of the first knight, Dame Diana with the aid of her dragon, for which it is named in the species’ honor. The castle is a nearly impenetrable fortress, with four levels of thick stone walls and manner turrets and towers, with the main body being enclosed in the thickest layer of magical stone yet. However, this castle’s weakness is the inability to withstand a siege for very long. The moat around the fortress is home to a Scottish water kelpie which is loyal to the pureblood knights only, all others she attempts to lure into its water-home only to devour her victim. When an attack is expected, the moat is also filled with poisonous water snakes and other unpleasant creatures. But in times of peace this castle is a vibrate and rich city, full of children’s laughter echoing through the streets and a kind king, who is compassionate to all. Many classrooms line the passageways of this school and in the center of the castle; there is an open-air courtyard where the students can gather for recreation. As the Scoailtes have learned from past mistakes, the structure is not entirely built of wood; indeed, it has a small amount of wood as the stables are now made mostly of stone for the stables have been plagued by several fires in the past. Each horse has a roomy stall, bedded with clean straw and every steed has access to clean water which is in the troughs which are carved into the stone. In between the stalls, there is a clear aisle in which people may walk and led their mounts through. ![[ ]](http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/PeregrineAlexander/Random%20Pics/icon2.jpg) | The Village Máistrí (1 sub-board) This is a rather friendly village were the common people (and occasionally a noble or two) hang out and have fun. The houses range from a variety of building materials. Some prefer to make their homes in the trees, which grow on the West side of the village or also in holes which have been made into houses. The streets here are sensible, consisting of packed dirt and several areas are fenced with stone walls.
In the center of the village, there is a little town, a collection of the shops of the merchants and an open-air market. There is also a pub located in the very center and it is the choice place for soldiers to hang out. No foreigner may enter here, as the village is walled and guarded by two sleepless Cyclopes guards.

![[ ]](http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/PeregrineAlexander/Random%20Pics/icon2.jpg) | The Great Woods (1 sub-board) Many stories have some from these great woods of mystery and magic. Some of the tales are bone-chilling and terrifying for the listener to hear, but some of them are more wondrous then even the most thrilling epic. At first the trees are thin and light streams through them at hits the forest floor, giving the woods a friendly feel, but as one moves deeper in, the trees become denser and the scene darker. Branches fall across the trail and strange noises fill the air as one scrambles through, doing one’s best to get into the clearing in the middle. Whatever happens in these woods stays in these woods, although many tell fully of what happened there. Even though it is dark, the traveler is still in Scaoilte territory. ![[ ]](http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/PeregrineAlexander/Random%20Pics/icon2.jpg) | The Rúnda Mountains
Many people in Soar have learned of these mountains so grim and imposing, some have even met their deaths among these freezing peeks, but yet others have found magic and have taken hold of their powers between the towers of majesty. Since many Scoailtes fear the mountains, not many of them venture here and as a result, the area is quiet and serene.
When viewed from a distance, these mountains appear blue in color, but they are tipped in alabaster snow. The central and highest mountain is so tall that it is surrounded in clouds around its summit and during storms it is plagued with white-hot tongues of lightning. The most powerful kind of magic is said to reside there. Yet the Scoailtes should be on the alert when they travel in these mountains, for Sceithian mages prowl the border here, attempting to Ireland through the High Pass which leads through Scaoilte territory.

![[ ]](http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/PeregrineAlexander/Random%20Pics/icon2.jpg) | The Saol River (1 sub-board) This is the river which flows through Saor. It is wide and swift and it is one of the most plentiful and resourceful rivers of all time. Not only is it a highway for watercraft of the Scoailtes, but it is their main source of water. The Soal also carries silt deposits and spreads them along the way, making the bank alongside it fertile and ideal for farming. Eventually, the Soal picks up speed as it goes through a series of steep cataracts, which climax at the tallest and largest waterfall. Once the water has fallen into the pool below it, it rushes down two tributaries which finally both feed into the lake of Fuar. It seems to stretch endlessly for miles in either direction, and hoof prints of running horses can often be seen in the sand. The surf itself is cold as ice, but it is beautiful and majestic. Ships sail upon the well of the waves and there is a small woodland behind the massive shore of sand dunes. In the summer time, it is a most pleasurable place to be, as it is somewhat warm and pleasant and the waters are a little warmer. ![[ ]](http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/PeregrineAlexander/Random%20Pics/icon2.jpg) | The Scoailte Battle Fleet (1 sub-board) Kept captive by the Scoailte docks are the great ships which this kingdom commands. These vessels wait for their work kept in the harbor like horses in a stable. From the great, but light battle ships, to the trading vessels, to the fishing boats, this is place to be if one has official business with a king or a fisherman. In the morning, mist covers the docks, but in the afternoon a rare Scottish sun comes to light up the sea and sparkle on its waters, and in the evening it sets, causing its reflected rays to turn from a peaceful blue to a brilliant orange. Of the few prisoners who have escaped, they have described this grim castle as ‘mostly dungeons’, but of course, the dungeons are the only part of the castle which the prisoners see. It is true that most of the stone structure, completely devoid of magic between its joints. It is made out of the darkest metals and stones, black in color. The occupants have placed many burning torches and small fires along the walls at night, to keep the place looking as terrifying and bone-chilling as possible. ![[ ]](http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/PeregrineAlexander/Random%20Pics/icon2.jpg) | River Fola The River Fola literarily means “River of Blood” in Gaelic and it is named that for good reason: its waters are a bright red color, more like lava then like water. However it wasn’t always this way. Once long ago the waters were pure and clean and processed healing powers which were bestowed upon them by the unicorn which guarded the river.
One day, a Sceithian party which had long been after the alicorn of this beast, sighted the animal standing upon the far bank. Greedily, they sent a maiden up to the unicorn and watched as she lulled the creature into a sense of false security. Then, when the golden bridle was over its head completely, they surrounded it and one of the men fired his bow with his arrow aiming for the beast’s head, but it missed and instead severed part of the golden fabric band around the unicorn’s face. Panicked, but only in partial self-control, the unicorn jumped into the water, screaming as arrows were shot repeatedly into its flesh. And by the time its last breathe left its throat, its blood had spread through the waters, not silver and giving immortality, but red and fiery and full of pain. To this day, the blood has not left this mighty, but frightening river.

However, there are many hidden caves craftily concealed in the mountains where many can take refuge to practice evil spells, brew secret potion, or just take refuge from the snow and the deadly snow. ![[ ]](http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/PeregrineAlexander/Random%20Pics/icon2.jpg) | The Breoite Sea This body of water isn’t just ugly; it’s poisoned in parts of it. Well, of course beauty is in the beauty of the beholder so for some it might not be so unsightly, but for most this ocean is not pretty.
For one thing, its shore is made of black, sharp rocks and the foam which seeps between them is a white-hot spiting concoction. The water itself isn’t exactly black, but more a dark, murky brown which smells faintly of a displeasing stench. Within the waters, unusual and mutated beasts swim about. Some are large sharps which spit poison from the back of their throats and straight up into the air.
Of course there is one small portion which is left untouched by the mutation. This is the portion closest to the Headquarters and the harbor where the trading nations come in. Somewhere, out in the distance ocean, the water makes the transition back to its normal, clean state.

![[ ]](http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/PeregrineAlexander/Random%20Pics/icon2.jpg) | The Forests of Dorchadas In Gaelic, ‘Dorchadas’ means ‘darkness’ and that word describes this forest perfectly. Narrow pathways, cumbering brush which gets in one’s way when one is trying to make a quick get-away. The trees are thick and don’t let in much light to the woods below.
Besides being dark, this forest is home to many terrors. Not only do the fierce Sceithian Mages lurk in the darkness, killing at will, but strange creatures of malicious intent and unknown powers. Untamed werewolves and manicores are said to be particularly prominent here.

The reason for the name is quite obvious, not only is the harbor dark as the night, but fish aren’t the only creatures which swim in these waters. Strange shark-like creatures burst from the surface to sink their teeth into both mortal and immortal flesh, and leave a poisonous bite as their mark. Long snakes also patrol these waters, also deadly poisonous. Unlike all other castles in the area, all the other buildings are set a fair way away from the main castle, the Castle Rós, and with good reason, for there is a thriving garden of roses surrounding the castle. These roses are enchanted, for they only bloom at night and when a full moon shines upon their petals they will glow, radiating the light of some unknown force.

However, this peaceful beach, unmolested by pirates or Scotts, is only known to a few of the Outcasts and even fewer have made their escape from that beach. It is protected by a tall, overhanging cliff with shelters it from the rest of the Shetlands. The place was named by a shipwrecked Viking as “straden av elskerne”, which means “the beach of lovers” in Norwegian.

It is here that not only do confrontations happen between The Flames and The Irons, but many other gatherings happen, when they happen at all. As one travels along, one passes many great white stones sticking out from the ground, like teeth, readying to bite down on their prey.

![[ ]](http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/PeregrineAlexander/Random%20Pics/icon2.jpg) | The City of Dunegary This is the capitol city of the Druids, although it is more like a light-flooded maze of beautiful caves than an actual city. Most of the caves are connected and the children of the kingdom run through them laughing and occasionally given the evil eye by an elder, but otherwise they run unhindered. Some caves delve deep into the ground, but some rise high enough to touch the sky above them. In the center of the city, there is a tall spire which rises high, its glittering pinnacle an announcement to the world. Moderator: Mizukey Kyoto | 0 | 0
![[ ]](http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/PeregrineAlexander/Random%20Pics/icon2.jpg) | The Cliste Valley This is a valley of plenty, where the Druids do what farming they can’t already manage within their glowing caves. Emerald grass carpets the ground where crops don’t grow and farmers plow the land with peace horses or oxen, no servants or slaves to help them. There is not much distinction between the classes in Skye and the peaceful field Cliste reflects that. Moderator: Mizukey Kyoto | 0 | 0
![[ ]](http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/PeregrineAlexander/Random%20Pics/icon2.jpg) | City of Eolas The city of Eolas is not the capitol city of Skye, but is the home to the Lead Druid. The Druids pride themselves on this very beautiful city and many hours of hard work went into making it the place it is today. Many of the buildings are made of white marble and tend to glow in the night hours because of the sunlight that they hold.
The local Druids are very friendly most of the time and welcome people into their city. There is a great library, true to the Druid beliefs and culture, at the center of the city. At any time during the day, many Druids can be found there, studying to their hearts content.

![[ ]](http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/PeregrineAlexander/Random%20Pics/icon2.jpg) | Lake of Ciúnas As its name implies, this is the lake of peace. It is located in the center of a country. It is often used as a place of contemplation for those hungry for knowledge. It is a very peaceful clear blue color and it is hard to see from one side to the other. The beaches are sandy and warm and a great place to relax when it’s not foggy.
In the center of the lake sits a small island. It is covered in forests, a few birds, and other animals. It is a very mystical island and many believe a very spiritual place. Many go there to meditate for days at a time and to find themselves. The island can only be reached by boat or swimming. Pine trees grow here, dropping snow on an occasional passerby—on purpose. Yes, that’s right, the trees can listen to human speech and can even converse with mortals or immortals. Here they make merry, drinking Irish drink and playing their merry tunes. Most of all, they are known for their sprintly leprachuns who dance along with them, but never reveal the location of their hidden gold. Meanwhile, Faries fly at the ceiling and hover over the tables, conversing with their fellow Irish.

It is a bustling ‘modern’ city, full of the latest fashions and ideas. It possesses scores of castles and the many knights and nobles who live within them. The city is also home to two academies: the University of Dublin and Trinity College.
